It was raining most of the morning but stopped around 2:30pm. Often it seems when the rain stops the critters start moving around so we were out by 3:30pm. It was 54°F and cloudy when we got to our stands. I was in my current favorite stand, which I like to refer to as the Zoo. Others in the area know it as number 21.

Around 4:30 pm a yearling buck passed thru from my right to left. It wasn’t fleeing but also not interested in stopping in my line of sight. The yearlings haven’t scraped their velvet yet so not really interested yet anyway. He was traveling with a doe who stopped in the shooting lane. She hung around the salt lick for a while, while he played in the woods to my left. I always love to watch the animals when they are their. While the doe was there, she kept looking over her shoulder from the direction she came. I thought she might have another yearling doe with her. Nothing came out. She followed the young buck out and to the left… Nothing else came out before we packed up just after dark.
